What We Do
Admittance
to Cattery
When a cat is admitted into the cattery, it receives a full veterinary physical examination followed by a blood test to establish FIV/FELV status. It is then vaccinated, microchipped and treated for external and internal parasites. A vaccination booklet is created and all vaccines and various medications, etc, are recorded, together with the cat’s registration number and microchip number, date of entrance and description. The cat is then put into our quarantine area for three weeks. During this time, we carefully observe it for any possible developments of illness.
Several
of the cats that arrive at the cattery are very nervous, and very scared – the quiet period
of three weeks spent in quarantine helps them to settle down and gain confidence in their new
surroundings.
Having completed the three week quarantine period, the cat is then moved to an appropriate area to join other cats – either to one of the large runs or to the cat park.
The
Cinni Cat Park
Many cats are adopted within a few weeks of arrival at the cattery. Others are less fortunate and therefore become permanent residents. For such reason, a large natural park was developed in order to happily accommodate the less fortunate. The park is fully equipped with running water, a kitchen area, litter areas, individual and communal housing huts with heating for the colder months. There are numerous trees with branch shelves and plenty of grass which the cats love. It is obviously the pride and joy of the cattery and is a perfect place to mingle and socialise with our feline friends.
