Welcome to Cinni Cat Refuge
Dr Malcolm
Holliday is one of the Anglo-Italian Society for the Protection of Animals’s (AISPA’s)
veterinary representatives in Italy. Following the donation of a large site south of Arezzo,
Malcolm and his sister Bunny have overseen the construction of a landmark new cat sanctuary.
This is a pioneering venture and the first of its kind in Italy.
There are two important functions of the cattery:
- Day-to-day rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, sick and injured cats.
- Study and promotion of improved methods of husbandry and management for cats in Italian rescue centres.
In terms of facilities the cattery has:
- A fully equipped surgery and operating theatre with waiting and recovery areas.
- A quarantine area for new arrivals.
- A series of large runs for cats waiting to be homed.
- Specially designed cat parks containing a colonies of cats that for various reasons cannot be homed.
This is
all supported by a caring, knowledgeable and trained staff willing to offer advice to those
considering taking on a cat as a pet, as well as existing cat owners.
