Welcome to Cinni Cat Refuge

Dr Malcolm Holliday is one of the Anglo-Italian Society for the Protection of Animals’s (AISPA’s) veterinary representatives in Italy. Following the donation of a large site south of Arezzo, Malcolm and his sister Bunny have overseen the construction of a landmark new cat sanctuary. This is a pioneering venture and the first of its kind in Italy.

There are two important functions of the cattery:

  1. Day-to-day rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, sick and injured cats.
  2. Study and promotion of improved methods of husbandry and management for cats in Italian rescue centres.

In terms of facilities the cattery has:

  • A fully equipped surgery and operating theatre with waiting and recovery areas.
  • A quarantine area for new arrivals.
  • A series of large runs for cats waiting to be homed.
  • Specially designed cat parks containing a colonies of cats that for various reasons cannot be homed.

This is all supported by a caring, knowledgeable and trained staff willing to offer advice to those considering taking on a cat as a pet, as well as existing cat owners.
